As the sale of smart wearables increases, concerns about opting out of connectivity become apparent. For example, you are walking into a meeting and the traditional "turn cell phones off" is no longer the announcement. Perhaps "Mute smart devices" would be a better, newer term. Using a Body Firewall pouch will allow the user to drop their wearables into it and stop the connectivity (bluetooth) signal. As soon as the wearable is retrieved the pairing is seamlessly restored.
There may be times when a user wants to temporairly block their signal from unwanted connectivity. For example, the individual may be wearing a dictation pin or health monitor device and someone unknown to them is nearby with a flashing recording signal on their smart glasses. The individual may have a Body Firewall pouch attached to clothing and simply drop their health pin or other wearable temporairly into the pouch to prevent another device from pairing with theirs.
Privacy has always been a major concern while utilizing the Internet. This is why there are so many passsword and ID prompts and applications that constantly beckon us to prove who we are before we can access our private, important data.
BodyInternet.com and BodyFirewall.com are exploring these concerns and producing a prototype product that will be available here once testing is complete and product is produced. Results will be posted here.
